Keshaun Akers Convicted And Sentenced For Robbery

Basseterre, St. Kitts, June 23, 2026 — Keshaun Akers of Tabernacle has been sentenced to six (6) years’ imprisonment following his conviction for the offence of robbery. The sentence was imposed by His Lordship Justice Patrick Thompson Jr. in the High Court on June 22, 2026.

The matter arose from an incident that occurred on March 29, 2023. Following investigations by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force, Mr. Akers was arrested and charged with the offences of Robbery and Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm.

Mr. Akers was arraigned before the High Court on February 13, 2026, where he entered a guilty plea to the charge of robbery. The charge of Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm will remain on file.

In delivering the sentence, His Lordship ordered that Mr. Akers serve six (6) years at His Majesty’s Prison, with time on remand (2 years) to be deducted. The Court further directed that he enroll in and pursue CXC Mathematics and English studies for the May/June 2027 examination period as part of his rehabilitation.

Additionally, the Court ordered that failure to comply with this educational requirement will result in an additional six (6) months’ imprisonment, to run concurrently with the six-year custodial sentence.

The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force remains committed to the investigation and prosecution of violent crimes and continues to work closely with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and the judiciary to ensure that offenders are brought to justice and held accountable for their actions.
